Oliver Schimpf ist Chief Sales Officer of the IFA Group. Under his management, the visionary and award-winning IFA car seat was among the corporation’s products. The study “Reduced Complexity Seating” (RCS) was also awarded the Central German Innovation Prize in the field of automotive cluster.

 

Schimpf’s name stands for change and innovation. One example of his accomplishments is the development of the impressive Formula 1 project for the helmet manufacturer Schuberth in the year 2000, culminating in the close co-operation with seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher and Ferrari. In the course of his comeback, Schumacher continues to trust Schimpf’s refined high-tech helmets as the absolute highest quality for motorsports.

 

In 2006, Oliver Schimpf took over as technical executive director for the newly founded Schuberth Corporate Group with 350 employees and 60 million euros in turnover. He was directly responsible for research and development, business development and production. During this period, Schimpf also represented the interests of helmet manufactures on the advisory board of the German Institute for Standardization (DIN).

 

After his studies in automotive technology in Braunschweig and Wolfsburg, Oliver Schimpf began his career as a project engineer with Schuberth in Braunschweig in 1996. Three years later he was appointed developmental manager and in 2002 he became a member of the board of directors at Schuberth Engineering AG. He established developmental services as a part of the corporation.

 

Oliver Schimpf was born in Braunschweig in 1964. Immediately after graduating from school and completing his military service, he worked as a technician in professional motorsports.

IFA ROTORION — Holding GmbH

IFA ist ein Name mit großer Tradition. Das Kürzel, das einst alle Fahrzeugbau-Kombinate in der DDR im Namen führten, stand früher für Industrieverband Fahrzeugbau. 1992 wurde das Unternehmen durch Heinrich von Nathusius privatisiert, der bis heute die Unternehmenskultur prägt.

 

2009 erfolgte der Zusammenschluss mit der Rotorion GmbH aus Friedrichshafen, seit Oktober 2010 firmiert das Unternehmen unter dem Namen IFA ROTORION - Holding GmbH. In 2016 erwirtschaftete das Unternehmen einen Jahresumsatz von rund 566 Millionen Euro.

 

IFA produziert heute an ihren Standorten Haldensleben, Irxleben und Charleston (USA) mit 2.500 Mitarbeitern Längswellen, Gleichlaufgelenke und Kreuzgelenke für die Automobilindustrie. Im Herbst 2014 läuft die Produktion in einem eigenem Werk in Shanghai/China an. Zusätzlich übernimmt das Unternehmen im Auftrag der Industrie Entwicklungsdienstleistungen in den Bereichen Antriebstechnik und Leichtbau.

 

Die IFA-Gruppe zählt zu den führenden europäischen Gelenkwellen-Herstellern und ist größter Automobilzulieferer Sachsen-Anhalts.
